Snow Day!!!

Much to the delight of children and guys who act like children, Murfreesboro was recently hit with a major snowstorm for the South (note: Minnesota calls this a Monday). We awoke to over three inches of snow on Monday, January 10th, and around Tennessee some places got almost a foot of snow. I unfortunately did not get out of work entirely, just in late and out early, but it was enough to let me build my snowman! Brooke sat at home all day, unable to even get to work. Snow was much more enjoyable before adult responsibilities!

This was taken an hour after it started snowing - that is a good sign the kids won't be in school the next day.

Measured 3 1/2 inches on the backporch. There hasn't been that much snow in the Boro in a while. Global warming my butt!

And I got to drive to work in that ten minutes later!

I just love a snow that blankets everything like this - too bad it only happens once every few years here.

Yes, I took this while driving. I didn't wreck, it's all good.

So glad I'm at work and not PLAYING IN THE SNOW!!!

Good part about major snowfall and parking lots - good excuse to take up two spaces when you can't see the lines.

This is the Tyler Snowman. Note the golf club in hand. And the eyes/mouth made of duct tape. And the MTSU hat. This is me if I were made of snow.

Brooke would be happier if she wasn't frozen solid. Luckily she froze in mid-smile.

Pointing out where the green would be if it weren't covered in snow.

Awww, he shanked it.... FORE!!!!!!!

Dude took a cheap shot.

What up now, Snowie? I don't care if you are a midget made of solid water particles, I will get the hair dryer out and end you!

How about a driver to the head?? Who's taking cheap shots NOW?!?!?

I might have gone a little snow crazy.

Ah, but all is right with the world. Brooke is still frozen mid-smile, I just brutally attacked my snowman, and temperatures stayed below freezing to keep the snow around for days. Love it!

Cruisin 2011

The best part of being on a cruise? Being pampered... the food... the casino... all of the above!

Greg with his tiny coffee cup. Espresso makes you look like a giant.

Towel animal day one: Seals!

Me playing the role of Rudolph the Burnt Nose Reindeer.

Mom and Dad looking rather elegant on formal night.

Last time we were on a cruise, I looked much different. I had at least two more chins and a suit two sizes bigger. This is much better.

Greg in a suit! Write it down!

Appletini night! This is for you, Scrubs fans!

Our Barney Stinson Suit Up pose.

Yusef, our Maitre'D for the week... he reminded us a LOT of Borat... a lot.

Okay, we need a ruling. Brooke says Elephant. I say Crab. Thoughts?

The ship view of Grand Cayman - what horrible weather!

Towel animal number three... Swanish thing.

The mini-golf championship. I'd like to say I did well. I'd like to say I have a million dollars, too, but that would all be lying.

Pre-game shot.

And post-game pout from me after getting spanked.

It's Ball-in-a-Cup! It's okay, because the ball is attached to a string, which is attached to the cup!

Formal night two - should have tried the shirt on before taking it on the cruise. Little tight in the neck.

Mom showing off how much she has lost in her new dress!

Borat, er, I mean Yusef entertaining the crowd at dinner.

Our last towel animal, a bunny in a rather provocative pose.

Brooke showing off her mad skillz on the slots. It started off well... for a while...

Me taking the house for everything in craps! Wait, reverse that....

Cigar night for the boys!

And playing a little roulette... I actually broke completely even and had some great calls. Black 24 - always a good bet.
So we got to the airport at about 9:00 and through security by 9:45 for a 1:00 flight. At 5:00 we finally boarded the plane after multiple delays... cards only keep you entertained so long.
It was sad to leave the vacation behind, so maybe the delayed flight was God keeping us there for a bit longer. He knew the family had a great time being together, relaxing and bonding. Hopefully it won't be a decade until the next big vacation!
