Haley Rae Baughman 9lbs 13.9oz

Didn't we just do this? Our dear friends Dave and Sam Baughman were blessed this weekend with their 2nd bundle of joy, Haley Rae Baughman. She was born at 4:15 PM at MTMC here in the Boro. We were happy to be there to hear that it was a girl! We came back after everything calmed down a bit to visit and see the new baby.

Happy mom with Haley. And Dave getting his camera ready. Typical day in the Baughman house.

The Baughman family, minus Kelson obviously. It's going to be fun to see how Kelsen handles this new person in the house!

Aunt Brooke getting some quality baby-holding time in. Haley kept us all waiting on her, but it was totally worth the wait!

Uncle Tyler, less awkward holding babies than a year ago, now just generally awkward.

We were totally going to just take her on home til we found out about the GPS device attached to her. Darn security measures!

Eventually I did give her back....

Look at those chubby cheeks! Too cute

Dad finally getting to hold his own child.

And now for a little comparison from last year to this year... they really look more alike than I remember!

10/10/10

Brooke's friend Brooke (Bailey) got married on the awesome 10/10/10 date, and my Brooke and I took a trip down to Collierville to check it out. The wedding was at this old Civil War home, hosting its first ever wedding. It was pretty cool... or warm... as it was an outdoor wedding on a very sunny and beautiful day.

The lovely bride coming down the aisle. Don't know what you call what she was wearing, all I know is it was a wedding dress and was very pretty. And it was white. That's the extent of my wedding dress knowledge.

I'm becoming a big fan of these sand ceremonies... like a little take home gift from the wedding as opposed to the unity candle lighting.

The happy couple!

The real reason weddings are so awesome - the cakes. And this one was totally worth it.

Aww, no cake shoving... they were nice.

I'd gladly take this house if the owners want to trade for mine. I mean, mine has a.... fence... fair trade!

We managed to get the bride away for a picture!

And of course, the obligatory self-shot.

Surprise!!!

Oh, how sweet it is... to plan and carry out the perfect surprise party! Mom has been working on my Dad's 60th birthday for months now, waiting to get revenge for her 40th surprise party. The plan was:
  1. Convince dad another guy in the church was having a surprise birthday party
  2. Make him believe Mom was asked to cater the event
  3. Invite dozens of people to the party and have them keep it secret
  4. Have Dad help get ready for the party, since Mom is "catering," but he is actually just getting his own party ready
  5. Send him outside to wait for the "guest of honor"
  6. Sneak family members and other non-North Boulevard friends in the back
  7. Bring him back to the fellowship hall to get this reaction:

Dad walked in, we yelled surprise, and he looked totally confused. Why were his sons and family from Missouri in the room? Then he finally put 2 and 2 together (but somehow got 5) and figured out it was all for him. His first response? "Ya'll made me work for it!"

How real did we make it? We put a 40 on the cake so he wouldn't get suspicious...

Greg and I wrote a little song for Dad... long story short, we made fun of Dad's amazing sense of direction, his way too real hair, Viagra usage, and his secret love for Mom's dogs.

It wasn't all mean, we also sang "Love Without End, Amen" by George Strait.

Not to be outdone, Mom also sang a great song for him with lots of good pokes combined with saying really sweet things.

Dad just found out he has two tickets to Championship Sunday at the US Open next year!

Lots of people there to cheer the old man on.

Like father, like son.

The whole family, much lighter than this time last year.

Mom and cousin Liam. He's just trying to look like Grandpa Nagel with that hairdo.

And the Missouri crew who made the long trek down for the party! So glad to have these people there, and I know Dad was happy to see them!
So a successful party by all accounts. A little music from Chuck Mullins, a lot of making fun of Dad's age, but a lot of love for the old guy, too. We wanted to make sure he knew we all loved him, even if we make him set up for his own surprise party!

Landon Turns 1!

On October 1st Landon turned 1! Wow, where does the time go?? Although I think Wendi is kinda glad that first year is complete and the whole house is back to actually getting sleep. As you can see we had cupcakes, ice cream and Landon had is very own cake egg and milk free.

Checking out my new stuff.

YAY!! I'm turning 1!

Hmmm, let's see what this cake stuff is all about....

I think I could get used to this.
