Remember the Titans

Sooo, Tyler here. Updating because we went to the Jeff Fisher Charity Softball game and Brooke doesn't remember who any of the players were. Luckily, I know an unfortunate amount of information about the Titans. I mean, who else can pick out who Phillip Morris and Craig Stevens on a softball field and know exactly who they are and what the play? Who, you ask? Exactly.

So Brooke and I joined up with Brian to enjoy FRONT ROW seats to the game. No one told us though that the aisle seat would be blocked most of the game for annoying kids asking for autographs from people they don't even know. At one point Jovan Haye was signing in front of us and a little kid got his autograph and turned around and said "I GOT IT!! Who is that??" Lovely. Glad we couldn't see so that chubby kid could get that. Luckily, Brian only maimed two children. I think he is growing up. Or it was too hot to actually destroy one.

It was fun though, I'd like to go back. I'm not really an autograph kind of guy, but we did get Brooke in some pictures with some of her faves. We saw several Titans who were signing right in front of us, since we were in the front row and all, but I didn't really care to do anything more than snap some pictures. And here are a few...

Our intimidating faces for the annoying kids...

David Thornton managed to warm up and not injure a shoulder.

KFC, Kerry Collins (go on and assume what the F stands for). Surprisingly he was an awesome shortstop, actually the game MVP. I didn't know an 80 year old quarterback could still move like that.

Gerald McGrath, pre-I-just-got-caught-with-steroids-and-am-suspended-for-four-games-next-year. All those drugs and he couldn't hit the ball past the pitcher. Barry Bonds would not approve.
Lavelle Hawkins was signing autographs, put I'd prefer to get them from someone who actually gets playing time and won't be cut this year. Awwww, I'm mean.
One of my personal random favorite Titans Vinny Fuller, nickelback. Nice guy, he signed for a ton of people.
Nate Washington. Not surprisingly, he dropped several balls. Glad to know it isn't just footballs he does that with.

The Titans 1st round draft pick Derrick Morgan. He looks like a beast. I kept praying all game for him to just not get hurt.

Vince Young showed up with McNair's sons and a shirt with the number 9 and the name reading "R.I.P. Pops." Would have been sweeter if he HADN'T just cited for assault at a strip club that morning.

The man, the myth, the mustache... Jeff Fisher! Nice guy, he was very patient with the fans throwing stuff at him to sign. I would have punched at least one person.

Brooke and Bironas... gotta love a guy who plays softball in camo shorts. Sadly, even though Brooke is in the stands, on level ground he only gains another inch or two. But he could be four feet tall, as long as he keeps kicking 60-yarders.

And the only person either of us really wanted to meet for sure, Brooke got a good picture with Cortland Finnegan, who is also her height. Gotta love that the name on his jersey said "Scrappy."

So it was a real fun night, despite being 87 degrees at the END of the game... nearly 10:00 at night... but the fireworks were totally worth it. I highly suggest attending this event next year. And come with me if you want to know totally useless information about each player. I need a life.
