Murfreesboro Has a Snow Shield

So all day yesterday we heard it is going to snow and be icy. This morning I wake up to hear that Rutherford County and Murfreesboro City Schools are closed. Of course, MTSU doesn't close for anything. It starts sleeting a bit, and I get a little excited about some winter weather. And then this happens...

Notice how the snow line breaks around the Boro perfectly, so that the south and north are getting snow, while we bask in 34 degree weather and wet conditions with no snow. And I already cancelled class, so I can't take that back.

I quit...

Ringin in the New Year.... Two Weeks Later

So I promised Brooke I'd keep this thing up... so far... so, eh...

2009 has started off in a frenzy for the Henson household. Poor Brooke was hit with her first state survery of the year right off the bat, which ended better than expected but not soon enough. She worked a few 14 hours days and wore herself plumb out, but hopefully a bonus will compensate her for the ten years the stress has taken off her life. And she gets another state survey soon at Oakwood!! Yay!!! I was lucky enough to start the year off on vacation, but work has more than caught up to me. I started teaching on Friday and have been seeing loads of students with all sorts of fun problems and issues.

The year started off with heartbreak, too, for the Hensons and all Titans fans. We managed to score tickets to the Titans AFC Divisional Playoff game against the Ravens... and we were PUMPED to be there!! (And puffed up in warm clothes)

Unfortunately, the Titans once again stomped on the hearts of their fans with a game WE SHOULD HAVE WON. I hereby shun Lendale White and Alge Crumpler for 5 years. Unshun. You suck, fatties. Shun.

We did just go see the Larks down in Tupelo, MS this past weekend, as Rachel is expecting Baby Lark soon (hopefully sooner than later!). It was nice to see them, and we got to see Elvis's birthplace. And you know, it's really not that much to look at. I suppose if I actually was into Elvis, I would have been more impressed, but the dude was born in a shack. Why does every famous music legend (Johnny Cash, Elvis, Ray Charles) have to be born in some poor backwoods town? Or at least all the ones they make movies about.

Anyway, the countdown is on til the cruise... less than 50 days... almost 6 weeks... that little of time to drop some weight... probably not going to happen... that resolution lasted until the leftover pigs in a blanket called my name on New Year's Day.
